Flash/Flex/Graphic Designer for
Work through the Center for Digital Design and Development
The Flash/Flex/Graphic Designer will design and develop custom, interactive Flash applications for clients of the Center for Digital Design and Development. Responsibilities will include digital graphic design, visual layout, interaction design, and the design, prototyping, and creation of various related user interface elements.
Job Description:
• Design custom interactive Internet applications using Flash, Flex, and custom graphics.
• Work closely with client and with team members to build mockups and prototypes flash/flex animations.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled UVU student making progress towards Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Multimedia, Graphic Design or related field.
• Knowledge and skills in Flash, Flex, and ActionScript 3.0.
• Understanding of Flash/Flex and design and development processes
• Some graphic design experience and skills with imaging applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, or Freehand.
• Experience with user interaction design, file formats and optimization, and basic color theory.
• Must be able to work independently and also with project team members.
• Must be focused on communicating effectively and have excellent attention to detail.
• Must have excellent proofreading and textual editing skills.
• Must be able to effectively manage his/her own time to complete tasks on schedule.
• Must have portfolio of completed work
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time job allowing great flexibility in hours and location.
Most work can be performed from any location with an Internet connection.
One physical meeting per week will be required at the Center for Digital Design and Development.
Salary begins at $12.00 to $14.00 per hour with potential for more based on performance

Knowledge and skills in XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Knowledge and skills in Flash, Flex, and ActionScript 3.0.
Understanding of Flash/Flex and web application design and development processes
Some graphic design experience and skills with imaging applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, or Freehand.
Experience with user interaction design, file formats and optimization, and basic color theory.
Knowledge of current Internet standards and browser specifications.
Must be able to work independently and also with project team members.
Must be focused on communicating effectively and have excellent attention to detail.
Must have excellent proofreading and textual editing skills.
Must be able to effectively manage his/her own time to complete tasks on schedule.
